Mitch's story

Last year I started to bite the inside of my cheek and my speech began to slur. I was checked out to see if I had a stroke. On November 17th. I was diagnosed with MND. On the same day my brother, Peter, passed away with Covid. I am fit and well , very relaxed and have decided to leg it in March trying to raise much needed funds. Please support us.

Michelle's story

You may or may not know that my dad Mitch (the one with all the funny stories) was diagnosed with MND in November. In such a short space of time we have learned so much about this debilitating disease and dad has taken it all his stride...quite literally. Despite his diagnosis my dad is still walking lots so we have set ourselves a joint challenge to walk a minimum of 777,777 steps in 7 weeks starting on March 1st.

This is part of the 7 in 7 campaign to raise money and awareness of the MND foundation who do such an amazing job. Before my dad's diagnosis the most I knew about MND was from a recent documentary. It was ironic that after being so moved by this programme it hit our family and we realised we had such little knowledge of the disease and what to expect.

My dad is a character and that will never change so he is battling this in his positive upbeat way and wants a challenge that will help raise awareness and money.

My dad is chirpy, cheerful and very happy and just wants to raise awareness. I know there are a lot of amazing charities but every little helps and we are truly grateful.

Thank you
