Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have just been reading about the awful droughts in East Africa which have caused famine on a huge scale. The main people that are affected are children. Now I know that most of you that will be reading this who are friends of mine, have kids of your own. I want to ask you to donate something small to help somebody else's kids. You will never meet them but does that really matter? I already sponsor a child through Plan International who are a great charity helping children all over the world. They are currently running a campaign to raise funds to help the families in this area, you can view it here http://www.plan-uk.org/. There is also a video of the distributiion process. Please can I ask you to give up the funds for that bottle of wine this week, donate the money you would spend on your next packet of cigarettes or suggest your kids give their pocket this week or the money they would have spent on their favourite magazine or sweets.
£37.20 could help feed a child and their mother for three months.
It is not a lot for anyone but combined hopefully it will reach a decent target. I am not going to shave off my hair or jump off Ben Nevis to encourage you to do this, but just hope that you will join me in trying to give something to somebody else who needs it more than we do. For those of you who remember Live Aid lets do it again mxx
