This is a business team challenge to walk 25 miles from Market Weighton to Hessle in one day to support the Clough Road rebuild project at the RSPCA Hull & East Riding, now in its final phase. We've asked each team to raise a minimum of £500.

Story

We were approached by Louise B from our local branch of the RSPCA to help with fundraising to rebuild the kennels on Clough Road. Of course we said YES - we love a good challenge especially for our local furry friends. In no time at all we had a team of volunteers willing to give it a go for this wonderful cause: Jason Brown; Angie Meadley; Gary Simants; Ian Shepherdson; Mark Fletcher-Shaw; Emily Bell; Kate Stancer; Paul Teal; Phil Atherall ;Diane Royce; Elizabeth Poole; Deb Norris; Rachel Thompson; Phil Urry, Becky Urry and Mick Radford  -and we're hopeful or more recruits as the event comes closer.

What are we fundraising for?

The old kennels were built decades ago and no longer fit for purpose so have had to be demolished.

The way we help and support animals who've undergone horrific cruelty and neglect has changed so much in modern times and we're now so much more aware of what their needs are.

Rebuilding these kennels will help all the animals in our area that are looking for forever homes once they have been nursed back to health. Sadly this can't always be the case but having a comfortable warm safe haven is the least we can do to make it up to our fellow creatures who a very small number of people treat in this way. Just remember people who are cruel to vulnerable animals exhibit just the same behavior to people!

What's the challenge?

This 79 mile trek over 3 days is a real challenge for the team. Some will do all three days, some 1, some just half - but we're made up people who have all sorts of fitness levels and ages but one thing we share is a passion to do what we can for this cause.

 The route:

Friday 15 May - Filey - North Grimston (27 miles)
Saturday 16 May - North Grimston to Market Weighton (28 miles)
Sunday 17 May - Market Weighton to Hessle Foreshore (24 miles)

So please, dig deep and support us as we try to raise as much as possible to make this build happen in 2020.
