Story

I will be running my first marathon in memory of my Stepson Layton who passed away from Mitochondrial Disease at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital on 21st January 2021. Layton was just 14 years old.

Layton fought his terminal illness for 6 years with such resilience, bravery and courage and I know he will be out of his wheelchair, running beside me every step of the way. He was a true superhero.

I am running this marathon in Layton’s memory and to raise vital funds for this amazing charity who have supported us for a number of years, from pre diagnosis up to the present day, where they still regularly send us “thinking of you cards.”

Every penny helps, thank you.
