Story
It's been one year since James passed away on 27th July 2019. Whilst in Myton Hospice, James received invaluable end of life care. Due to his condition, James was unable to enjoy many of life's luxuries that we all take for granted. However, one luxury that James always enjoyed was his food. As well as an endless supply of Skittles from his friends, Myton provided James with a three-course meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every day!
James spent a total of 11 weeks with Myton Hospice which meant 77 days of three-course meals. He had quite the appetite and rarely skipped a meal. It costs just £12 to feed a patient for a day and I'm sure James would say it was worth every penny!
My challenge is to run the Coventry Half Marathon and raise enough money to feed Myton patients for another 77 days. £12 a day for 77 days = £924. Myton rely heavily on fundraising to continue providing their amazing service.
Each year they must raise over £9million to ensure their excellent care is possible for all those they treat. Last year Myton Hospice worked with over 1800 people and their families.
Every penny that is raised will go towards feeding a patient in Myton Hospice. It's a chance to let somebody enjoy one of life's little luxuries during their precious final days.
