Story
Our dad was diagnosed with Lung cancer with possible brain and spinal metastasis in August 2012, he sadly passed away surrounded by his family on the 17th September 2012 in The Countess Mountbatten House.
By the time our dad was diagnosed he was far too poorly to have any treatment or further tests. He knew he was going to die and suffered a lot of agonsing pain at home before diagnosis.
When he was diagnosed we had input from Macmillan cancer care from The Countess Mountbatten House. They were like a big cuddly blanket had been wrapped around our family, we were actually being listened too and supported at last.
When suggested my dad did not want to go into the hospice (Countess mountbatten House), because of the stigma that is sometimes associated. Once there our dad was so relieved and was having the care he needed. He did not want others to be scared of going into a hospice or for the place to be closed. He felt the care was outstanding and the volunteers were such good people who were so valuable. He wanted to give money, even a small amount to help in what ever way he could.
Sometimes cancer for what ever reason can not be treated and thats when we need help from the Countess Mountbatten House. Please take the time to donate even a small amount helps, i hope you will never need this service, but lets make sure it continues for all of those like our dad who do needed it.
So dad as promised this page is for you, i promised i would try and help on your behalf and i will xxxxxxxxxxx
