Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

D-Day for Three Peaks Teams from Avon Fire & Rescue Service, 6 June 2009

Sixty five years after the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944, the record holders of the Three Peaks Challenge (The Jampotters) will be facing a difficult and arduous task on the slopes of Mount Snowdon.

The event will raise money for the charities Help for Heroes and The Fire Fighters Charity, plus help the team train for The Three Peaks Challenge later in June.

The team of four firefighters will be wearing full firefighting kit and Breathing Apparatus (BA) on the ascent. The team will be supported by the rest of the Three Peaks Team who will be carrying the compressed air cylinders needed to reach the summit. To minimise the effects of heat and dehydration the attempt will begin in the early hours of 6 June, starting from Pen y pass and proceeding along the Pyg track.

You can find out more about the challenge, on the Avon Fire & Rescue Service website
