Story
I'm fundraising for SameYou as part of the Virtual Inca Challenge and I'm hoping to raise $200 to support brain injury recovery. But I need your help to get there! I'll be walking 26 miles -- the length of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu!
Fundraising for SameYou is important to me because my mother fell and hit her head in January 2018, which resulted in a traumatic brain injury, or TBI, she has yet to fully recover from two and a half years later.
Since my mom fell, she hasn’t been able to work, drive, read or write for long periods of time, have long conversations, attend family parties, and more. Her sensitivity to light and sound is so bad that the windows in our house are covered, she always wears earplugs, and she can’t go outside without one or two pairs of dark sunglasses.
An acquired brain injury is caused by injury to the brain after birth. This includes strokes, tumors, concussions and accidents. In fact, 1 in 3 people will have an acquired brain injury at some point in their lives, but this is hardly ever talked about.
SameYou want to change this. They are working to break the silence around brain injury and help give people the best possible chance of recovery after leaving the hospital. Any donation would help and would be really appreciated!

Thank you in advance for supporting me. I couldn't do it without your help!
