Story
Over the last few years my family have had to deal with the effects of Alzheimer's. Both my Grandad and Grandmother have recently passed away as a result of the symptoms. In 2016 my sisters Lucy and Meghan ran the Edinburgh Marathon in our Grandparents memory and this year's Great North Run will give us another chance to remember them and raise awareness for a problem currently faced by 50 million people and by 2050 it could be as many as 152 million. However these numbers don't take into account the suffering of those who love and care for those effected.
This is why I have chosen to run and raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK as their vision is "a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia."
Any donations are welcome and will go towards a truly worthwhile cause.
