Story
After becoming obsessed with the documentary 14 peaks on Netflix, I felt like I needed a physical challenge.
So when friend Claire suggested we should do the 3 peaks together in 24hrs, challenge accepted.
Lacking a poor soul to drive us between them.
Naomi house organise it as a charity event to raise money for their cause, and with the bonus of a minibus driver and a guide to stop us wandering of the edge of a mountain in the dark, its a no brainer.
Naomi house and Jacksplace are a great charity, close to our hearts as they are hospices supporting life limited children and young adults, and one of the children we provide respite for goes there with her family and they speak very highly of the work they do.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, hopefully all with in 24 hours
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft)
The three mountains are:
• Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)
• Scafell Pike, in England (978m)
• Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m)
So come Friday 6th may it’s a long old slog in the mini bus to Scotland, stay the night. Saturday morning climb Ben, then drive to scafell pike in the lake District, climb that one, drive to snowdon up and down, job done
Please donate some money every little helps as they say, and I will go for a jolly long walk up and down some mountains while supporting a amazing charity who make an incredible difference to sick children, young adults and their family’s lives.
Thank you
