The Walking Challenge 2018 · 14 May 2018 to 2 July 2018 ·

The Walking Challenge is to increase your step-count and walk 4.5 miles (10,000 steps) a day, between 14 May and 2 July 2018. It's the perfect way to lose those winter pounds and do good.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, your support is much appreciated.

Against my better judgement, I’m doing the Civil Service Walking Challenge again! Last year 604 miles and 1.4 million steps of walking gave me 13th place (out of 2,300). That was good... but could I do just a little better???

This year I’m aiming for a top ten place, which I think means averaging about 30,000 steps per day for 50 days. If things go particularly well, I’m also contemplating an attempt to walk between all six of Dstl's sites in four days during the last week of the Challenge (~170 miles) as a final boost for the step count;

  • Sandridge (St Albans)
  • Fort Halstead (Sevenoaks)
  • Langhurst (Horsham)
  • Portsdown West (Portsmouth)
  • Alverstoke (Gosport)
  • Porton Down (Salisbury)

If you’d like to sponsor me in this ridiculous and ill-conceived endeavour it would be both wonderful and generous; both The Charity for Civil Sevants and I would also be extremely grateful.

Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, OTBC 💛💚
