CARE London to Brighton Cycle Challenge · 10 April 2010 ·

We at CARE International, fight poverty to help the world’s most vulnerable people.

Story

Last year New Media Age decided to support the work done to relieve poverty by Care International. We showcased them at our awards, and many of the NMA team (although not me) did the Care Challenge in Wales last September. Shortly after that my boss, the estimable Andy Oakes, spotted the Care London to Brighton bike ride and suggested I signed up. And so it is that on Saturday, I will cycle further than I have ever cycled in my life. This is a good thing.

The point, however, is not the cycling but the fund-raising.  So please, help me support the great work Care does in the poorest communities in the world, improving education, preventing the spread of HIV, increasing access to clean water and sanitation and expanding economic opportunities. In return I'll let you know how I get on, and you can laugh at the attempt an overweight 48-year-old man who once failed his Cycling Proficiency Test to ride 91km.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks,

Mike
