Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2010 my best friend, Tony Spark, sadly lost his battle with cancer. At just 18 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and he fought valiantly against it for 8 years but at age 26 he passed away leaving a huge hole in my heart.
In the last few months of his life, Tony entered into St Christopher's Hospice. It was an incredibly tough time. For Tony, for his family and his friends. The staff were incredible. The hospice itself was amazing. They cared for him, for everyone, like nothing I have ever seen. They allowed his mum, Julie, to stay with Tony in the hospice.
I'd visit nearly everyday to see him. And every day I would see just how incredible St Christopher's was. I have a lot of emotions when thinking back on that time.
It has been 10 years since Tony passed and myself and some others felt it was a good idea to mark this anniversary by doing something for the hospice.
I have decided to do something I have never done, a Triathlon. It is a "sprint" version, so 750m swim, then a 20km bike ride, culminating in a 5km run.
