Michael runs a million metres in 2011

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My plan is pretty simple. Over the course of 2011 I plan to run a million metres, and by doing so I hope to raise some money for Cancer Research UK.
Cancer is something that has affected my family greatly, as it also has those of many friends, so it is nice to help out research into its treatment and eradication in any tiny ickle wickle way I can.
So that people can ensure that I run the full million metres, I shall be running out in the open air and tracking my progress using RunKeeper. You can find my profile here: http://runkeeper.com/user/michaelmaclennan/profile
This means I'll have to brave the tropical conditions Scotland has to offer. As summer arrives I might also do some public running events as part of the challenge - by that stage company may be appreciated... Though I have run quite a lot in the past, I won't pretend that the challenge isn't a little bit daunting. I think my sense of stubborness - and my fantastic, sexy legs - shall keep me ploughing on throughout the year. If you see me frozen in on a pavement near you, just give me a shove to get me back into gear, that should do the trick.
I shall also be writing a little bit about the challenge. First of my articles is here: http://living.stv.tv/health-fitness/fitness-diet/219502-million-metre-run-off-to-a-snowy-non-start/
Anyway, that's about that - it's a pretty simple goal, so I won't waffle on (for a change). Support is appreciated in any way possible, even if it's just stopping me in the street and telling me I'm a complete buffoon. (Don't feel bad, it happens at least a couple of times on a regular day out.)
