Story
3 mountains, 25 miles, 10,000 feet, in just 24 hours!!!
A keen rugby player, Michael was fit & healthy with a real enthusiastic and fun loving attitude towards life.
Michael tragically died, suddenly, of a heart attack aged 28 in February this year, leaving his fiancée, family and friends devastated.
Michael had a rare and undiagnosed lung disease called haemorrhagic pneumonitis, which caused the heart attack.
...............................
Every week at least 12 ‘fit and healthy’ young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions.
Established in 1995, C.R.Y. is a humanitarian charitable organisation helping to raise awareness of Cardiac Risk in the Young.
The organisation promotes the heart screening of young people aged 14 to 35 and contributes to medical research.
The charity also offers support to those who have suffered a loss, donates medical equipment to surgeries and hospitals and funds the C.R.Y. Centres for Sports Cardiology and Cardiac Pathology.
We, some of Michael’s close university friends, are currently in training to undertake a gruelling challenge in memory of Michael in which we will climb the UK's 3 highest mountains in just 24 hours in an attempt to raise awareness and funds for C.R.Y.
We want to give as much back to the memory of Michael as possible.
We hope you are in a position to donate some funds for a deserving cause, £5 would go a long way, but ANY amount you could spare would be gratefully received!
Our national 3 peaks challenge will take place on the weekend of June 30th 2012.
Thank you for your time and support!
