Sue, Will and I are joining the annual Upbeats Sponsored Walk to raise funds for the charity that has benefited our family in many ways. 

On the face of it The Upbeats is simply a football team for children and adults with Downs Syndrome. But they are so much more than that. The programme not only focuses on core football skills and the related health benefits of regular exercise it promotes increased self esteem through perfecting the skills required to play to best of the player's ability and contribute to the team's success. The coaches are skilled at getting the best out of the players and enhancing their life experiences. But most of all, its fun !

William loves the training sessions, has made many friends and played regular competitive football. He loves it but Sue & I love it too.Through the programme we have travelled the UK getting much pleasure watching the team but the support and friendship we have received from families who can share our ups and downs (no pun intended!) is really priceless.
