Michael's February Challenge

Facebook challenge 2023 · 31 December 2023 ·
To all my friends and family.
This February I will be running 56 miles, to help raise awareness of cancer and hopefully some funds along the way; supporting the brilliant work of Macmillan Cancer Support. They have asked people to run 28 miles in 28 days, but as they always go the extra mile, I am too. Double or quits!
Many of us have suddenly found out about a friend or family member having cancer, and in some cases even losing them. I am no different.
As many of you are aware, I normally only run when the bar announces last orders; couple that with the fact that the last time I actually ran was nearly 2 years ago, this will be an interesting challenge for sure! However I’m sure that if my Dad can continue to stay strong and positive through his journey, then I know I’ll find a way through mine.
So over the month, follow me on my Strava (https://www.strava.com/athletes/45051482 ) suffering, sweating but persevering. I’ll be roping in friends to help motivate me on the runs, so look out for funny photos.
If you can spare any change towards this, then I’d truly appreciate it. But the most important thing is to get everyone talking. If you have any symptoms, please speak to someone. Let’s remove the stigma.
