Compassionate care for the community. Southern Hospice Group is the charity for the three hospices our local communities know, love and support. Chestnut Tree House children's hospice near Arundel, Martlets in Hove and St Barnabas House in Worthing.

Story

In the past, together Michael and Christie have completed half marathons, marathons and the London to Brighton challenge. Having reached 65 and deciding that retirement is certainly not him, Michael has decided to participate alongside his son-in-law Christie in the Saharan Challenge in Africa.

This challenge comprises of participating in 2 marathons over 2 days in the Draa Valley and the dunes in the Sahara Desert. The course is very challenging and is over sand dunes, rocky trails and plantations. The challenge is from Thursday 10/10/19 to Monday 14/10/19 and the runs are on the Friday and Saturday. For this challenge of a lifetime, their nominated charity is The Martlets which is based in Brighton and provides life changing hospice care for people living through a terminal illness.
