Run to the Beat 2013 · 8 September 2013 ·
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit my begging page.
I'm doing the Run to the Beat half marathon on September 8th. This gives me 4.5 weeks to learn to run 13ish miles / 21ish km. At the moment I can run about 6-7 miles. Your money would help make it seem worthwhile doing the rest.
In short, my dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and sadly died in 2010. He had a sarcoma in his back, which was probably caused by radiotherapy used to treat his testicular cancer 25 years earlier. Anyway, I know he and my family found the support Macmillan gave during countless operations, drugs and all that malarkey a big help, as loads of people have over the years. Also, 4 in 10 people will get cancer so when it's my or someone I know's turn I'll be wanting some Macmillan action. Until then, much life to be lived eh?
Any donations are amazing because I know you probably get this stuff all the time and it's possible to rack up quite a hefty bill sponsoring everyone you know to run somewhere - so many, many thanks if you do donate anything.
****Those with more cash to splash and a curious mind**** Donations upwards of £20 are eligible to receive a photo of me in a compromising situation / with a bad haircut / both, if requested.
Also if I miraculously raise more than £550 in four weeks I'll run the bleeding thing in a ginger wig I just bought for an unrelated Agent Scully costume. That's the sort of thing people do, isn't it?
