Story
On Sunday 23rd April I will be taking on my biggest challenge to date and participating in my first ever marathon, The London Marathon.
I will be attempting to navigate my way through the streets of one of the greatest cities in the world and hoping to cross the finish line after 26.2 miles of running!
I was fortunate enough to be given a place in the ballot and with this opportunity I've been given, I want to raise as much money for a charity and cause very close to both mine and my family's heart.
The Mental Health Foundation is the UK's charity for everyone's mental health. With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive.
Training for the marathon has been in full swing for the last 11 weeks and it isn't something I've underestimated as it's involved a lot of long and late night runs in the cold after work! Having recently completed the Paris Half Marathon, I'm now looking to go all the way to the full marathon distance and hopefully raise as much money possible for a worthwhile cause.
Any donation no matter how big or small will be appreciated and every pound that is raised will help us tip the balance in favour of a world with good mental health for all.
If you will be watching the London Marathon on the day, and do see me, please cheer me on and I will make sure to thank you for your support!
Thank you!
Michael
