Story
On the 16th of December a boy called Michael lost his fight for life.
Say hello to our son Michael, a beautiful boy who had a heart of gold and a smile for everyone. He lived a life of wonder and hope until he reached 18 when he became sick with an extremely rare immune disorder (Aplastic Anaemia) and spent the next four years fighting for his life in several NHS hospitals. Unfortunately we lost him just before Christmas 2019. It broke all our hearts and we all miss him terribly, he loved life so much.
I wanted to tell the world all about his life and the adventures he had growing up with his brother and have now published an illustrated book telling his story from the day he was born to the day we lost him. A book full of childhood memories.
A short but beautiful Life full of wonder and hope.
All the illustrations have been drawn and painted by me, Michael's Dad, using pencil, watercolour and acrylic from original photos, ideas and sketches. Any profits and donations will be given to the Edith Cavell Nurses Trust in recognition of all the kind help given to Michael who never gave up hope in his long, hard four years in hospital.
As a special 'Thank You' for donating to his charity I will post to you a small free book (Michael's World) which includes some of the illustrations taken from 'I am Michael Glare and this is my Life'. Just send me your address details to michaelsdad@michaelglare.co.uk or you can contact me at the website www.michaelglare.co.uk
Michael was treated at the following hospitals:
Worthing General Hospital, St. Thomas Hospital, University Hospital Southampton, Kings College Hospital
