We help people trapped by unemployment to transform their future

Story

Thanks for dropping by...

In what is a salutory lesson in the dangers of sitting within earshot of the firm's charity rep, on the evening of 9/10 June, I'll be taking part in Nightrider. No, not the long-awaited revival of the Hoff's greatest outing on TV, but a 100km cycling event in and around Central London at night.

This is all in aid of Tomorrow's People, a charity dedicated to helping those who have been disadvantaged, disabled or marginalised find work. Through their efforts, people who suffer from disabilities, drug or alcohol problems, and those who have found it hard to hold down long term jobs are finding work through the programmes and qualifications offered by Tomorrow's People. And of course, it's not just the individuals that this helps; society as a whole benefits from having more people in work - for every £100 spent by Tomorrow's people, society is better off by £160.

So, if you'd like to help me raise some money for an incredibly worthwhile cause, please feel free to donate using the secure form on this website. Not only will you know that you'll have contributed to securing a better future for those who want to be a part of our society, you can also enjoy the fact that you'll be part of the reason why I'll be careering around London when most normal people are asleep, and won't be able to walk properly for the following week.

The Route:

Setting off from Alexandra Palace in the North, the route meanders South through Hampstead and Camden, before heading into the West End, taking in Covent Garden, the London Eye, and Westminster, before looping back over the river to the leafy environs of Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall. From there, it veers South past Battersea, before heading down to Crystal Palace - the halfway point. After a brief stop, Greenwich, followed by Tower Bridge and St Pauls, where it doubles back to take in Canary Wharf, before turning North for the final leg - Mile End, the Emirates Stadium, and the final climb back to Alexandra Palace.
