Well I am finally going to run the marathon and more importantly it is for a cause that is very close to me. I have recently found out that my friends new born is unfortunately suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).  

 

When a child is born with EB the proteins that normally hold the skin together do no function. Outer skin and internal linings are so fragile that any knock, or even a parents hug causes agonising blisters and permanent damage. At present there is no cure. There are three types of EB, junctional EB is fatal in infancy.

 

DebRA is the only UK charity that provides care and support to the unfortunate people suffering from EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa). They do not receive any government funding and rely on their supporters.

 

DebRA funds vital reasearch into EB and associated skin cancer. It also supports the families living with EB and funds specialists team of nurses.
