Story
On average 26 Canadian die each day from Colorectal Cancer. I am running 26k to raise awareness and encourage testing.
Colorectal cancer is scary. It is the most common cancer to affect both men and women in B.C. This year alone more than 3,200 individuals will be diagnosed. However, colorectal cancer is detectable, treatable, and beatable.
At 56 I never expected cancer. I ignored the symptoms. I completed the October 2019 Toronto Marathon. I felt great. Jayne and I had just built our own house and my business had its best year since 2012. Two months later, my life changed forever. Surgery removed the cancer but wrecked my body.
Don't let cancer catch you by surprise. Know the symptoms and get tested. Colon cancer is detectable, treatable, and damn beatable.
