It is with great excitement that we announce the Charity Treks HIV Vaccine Bike Ride for 2021.Our event will be held from August 4 -7, 2021 in Burlington, VT.

Beginning around 1999, I have been involved in charity biking events, mostly as a rider, but also as crew. The Charity Treks group is the most remarkable I have known, and it is why I am riding with them now. They have, in the face of much adversity, continued to work toward a vision of developing a vaccine for HIV. The current pandemic demonstrates just how prescient they were as their efforts began in 2002. Thus far, with the pandemic, 4.15 million have lost their lives: With HIV, the estimated total, across decades, of course, is 36.3 million per the WHO. 

For those interested in participating, The Ride Details: There will be an informal get-together for the first 3 days, with several routes options available to riders who wish to ride a pre-determined route on their own. The 4th day will feature a fully supported, 100-mile day from Burlington to the beautiful waterfall in the town of Warren, VT. There will also be a group dinner in the evening and the traditional Charity Treks auction after dinner. Online registration is now open.
