Story
I started improving my running through lock-down induced boredom so I have decided it is finally time to take the plunge and run the London Marathon on 2nd October. I have always loved watching this inspiring event given it runs past my flat so I’m really excited to be taking part and have been training hard. I am running for a local charity, also based on the marathon route, who do loads of amazing work to support those less fortunate in my local community. Anything you can spare would be hugely appreciated. My employer, Deutsche Bank, has also generously agreed to match up to £2500 of donations. Thanks in advance for your generosity!
Based in the heart of Rotherhithe in South East London, Time & Talents provides vital support, fun and friendship to local kids, families and older people. We offer everything from befriending and social support for isolated older adults, to gardening clubs, groups for stroke survivors and visually impaired adults, and kids holiday clubs. We deeply value our community, and work hard to help everyone feel valued, connected and included. Our wonderful London Marathon runners help us to raise much-needed funds, all of which go directly into our community programmes. We will spend every pound on fighting the isolation experienced by so many older people, and on supporting kids and families bearing the brunt of years of government cuts and reduced services. With your generous help, we can keep being a much-loved community hub, and keep working to build a happier, healthier community where no one feels left behind.
