Haller works with nature to regenerate ecosystems and build thriving communities. In Kenya we equip subsistence farmers living on dry, eroded land with the knowledge to harvest water, rehabilitate the soil and farm sustainably so they can become self-sufficient and generate a livelihood.

Story

Haller, a small, innovative UK charity promotes a model for economic development that is both sustainable and environmentally sound.  Using the principles developed over 50 years by award-winning environmentalist Dr Rene Haller, a UNEP Global Laureate, we address communities primary needs through an integrated set of programmes providing clean water, farming and food security, education, primary health services and support to small enterprises.  Our community partnerships aren’t quick fixes and we don’t give money.  Though a 5-year partnership we offer long-term life-skills training which enable farmers and their children to become self-sufficient.  We are currently working with 27 communities of approximately 25,000 people in the Mombasa are of Kenya.

The Red Badgers have developed a very cool and important mobile app for farmers in Kenya, check out the app and blog below
