Story
The MICDS Turkey Train is an annual MICDS tradition where our entire community gathers together to collect frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items to benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
Each year, MICDS alone collects around 10,000 pounds of turkey and other food items, providing over 8,000 Thanksgiving meals for those facing food insecurity in our area. The “train” is made up of Upper School students lining the walkways and passing turkeys, one-by-one, from the Upper School STEM Building to a garage in the MAC, where the Foodbank truck awaits. Lower and Middle school students roll over thirty barrels of donated Thanksgiving food items to the MAC to complement our turkey donation.
If you choose to make a monetary donation, it will go directly to the St. Louis Area Foodbank in the name of the MICDS Turkey Train to provide additional food items to families over the holidays.
Thank you for your support of our annual tradition!
