Story
Dylan was born on the 4th July 7 weeks premature. We knew a few days before he was born that he would be staying on the special care unit at Scarborough hospital, and would be cared for by the brilliant staff on the ward.
Bliss provided the unit with really helpful information booklets and access to support which helped us better understand what was happening. They also provide information regarding life after SCBU, as this can be really really daunting. Bliss have created milestone cards especially for babies who are born premature or sick. These allow families like ours to have a bit more of a ‘normal’ experience, and to really celebrate the huge milestones that our little babies reach in such a short period of time.
We would love to help Bliss carry on this brilliant work in supporting families at a really tough time.
1 in every 7 babies born in the UK will need specialist care.Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 90,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
