Story
For every £10 you donate, receive a place on my inspiring , practical, mid-year planning workshop - Finish Strong 2022 - which will help you live the SHIT out of the rest of the year...no matter how badly the first half has gone!!
Keep your place, gift your place to a loved one, friend or colleague – it’s completely up to you. The workshop will take place on zoom at 8pm on Monday 11th July – if you can’t make it, there will be a recording for you.
Did I mention I’m a life coach? That’s probably important to know! I’m an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, and I support people to live their most extraordinary life. I run tons of workshops and people say nice things about them :)
***IMPORTANT!!!*** When you donate, tick the box that says: 'I'm happy to share my contact details with Mia Ali for the purpose of thanking me', so that I can contact you about your workshop places.
Why am I doing this? Read on for my story....
My littlest big brother, Bez, was the Mischief-Maker-In-Chief, my Partner-In-Mild-Crime, a Chef-&-Epic-Party-Thrower-Extraordinaire, and my very own Teacher-of-Important-Life-Stuff-Such-As-How-To-Open-a-Champagne-Bottle-Without-Taking-Someone's-Eye-Out-&-Why-Olives-Aren't-Evil. And boy, did he live the SHIT out of life!!
But life has a habit of throwing us curveballs...
In the first week of this year, he was diagnosed with cancer. By the end of February, he was receiving end-of-life care from Ashgate Hospice.
I was incredibly privileged to spend the last 10 days of his life with him in the hospice, along with his wife, Sarah, and my sister and 'other' brother. It was a profoundly life-changing experience - terrible, beautiful, inspiring...all at the same time.
The terrible part, I'm sure you can understand. But what made it so beautiful and inspiring was the care provided by Ashgate. In their lovely, calm environment, their caring and skilled staff made Bez's last days peaceful, dignified, autonomous and so very human. We laughed, we cried, we shared memories, we ate cake (LOTS of cake) - the staff and volunteers really couldn't have supported us more.
They are the best of us, I tell you.
I'm taking on the Sparkle Night Walk 2022 to help raise vital funds for the hospice, to make sure that when our loved ones in North Derbyshire face a life-limiting illness, they'll be able to access the specialist care and support they need. For any donation that you can give, it will help to provide compassionate end of life care to patients and their families when it matters most.
And believe me. It matters.
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart xx
