Welcome to Mandy's Heartfelt Adventure Fundraising Page 🚶♀️🥾🎉
Methodist Homes (MHA) is the UK's largest charity care provider. They inspire the best care and support at every stage of later life, for people of all faiths, beliefs and none.
And this is why I am raising funds for them..
***Update**
I did it!! Thanks to everyone who has supported me along my very heartfelt adventure :-)
On the 29th and 30th August I will be walking from my home in Innerleithen, Scottish Borders, over the hills / moors to Edinburgh city centre. I'm doing this to celebrate the anniversary and reflect on my 1st year running Charles Bloe Training (CBT). And what a year it's been!
When I took over the ownership of CBT on 30th August 2019, I was both excited and nervous about the journey ahead. There's so much to learn about running a business. And then came COVID 19...
Despite the challenges that the the last few months have inevitably brought, something unexpected and amazing has also happened. Through honest and emotional conversations with managers such as Richard Murfin from MHA, I have rekindled and embraced my 'why'; I’m passionate about ensuring that people receive the best care possible.
I've known, and enjoyed working with, Richard for many years. However, during the past few months our relationship has grown to a deeper level. Together we have redesigned training packages but in a way that was the easy bit. I have also listened to him talk about the devastation that COVID19 has caused throughout MHA's homes and services. I've felt the pain in his voice as he told me of the deaths both in residents and staff. I've seen how much he, and all the MHA staff care.
And I've wanted to do more to help.
So, there really was no question about who I wanted to support as I embrace my anniversary challenge. I know we have all have a hard year, but any donation you can make will be so well received from MHA.
On behalf of myself, the CBT team and all at MHA a very heartfelt thank you.
The adventure continues..
