It’s that time of year again: Michael Garron Hospital’s annual holiday campaign with the United Way Greater Toronto! 

From December 6 to 19, we will be collecting donations for the United Way Greater Toronto to support individuals and families in need, including those who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. 

Your donations will help the United Way Greater Toronto combat poverty in our local community by ensuring people in need have access to food, shelter, employment and other supports. You will also help ensure we can have an equitable COVID-19 recovery that considers our most vulnerable communities so we can come back stronger from this pandemic. This is our chance to give back when our community needs us most!

This year, we are running a number of fun and festive activities that you can safely participate in at the hospital and/or from home to raise money for the United Way Greater Toronto.

December 6-12: Cozy Casual Week

Bring work-from-home attire to the office! Ditch the blazer and wear your favourite sweatpants, hoodies and other casual wear to work for a donation of $5 at the staff entrance. All participants will receive a sweet treat while supplies last!

December 13-19: Holiday Wear Week

Break out the Santa hats, elf ears, Christmas sweaters and other holiday gear at work for a donation of $5 at the staff entrance. All participants will receive a sweet treat while supplies last!

December 6-19: Candy Cane Grams

Send a festive treat and note of gratitude to your colleagues for a donation of $2 per candy cane or $5 per three candy canes at the staff entrance.

December 6-19: TikTok-Style Dance Contest

Record a short dance routine with your team to your favourite song! Your colleagues will vote for their favourite video and the team that receives the most votes will win a prize. Entry is a donation of $25 per group.

To enter, send your video and your email donation receipt(s) to communications@tehn.ca by end of day on Dec. 15. 

Please ensure you use clean, appropriate music so we can share your video with staff! Voting takes place on iCare from Dec. 17 to 20. The winning team will be announced on Dec. 22.
