We provide specialist nurses to support families affected by dementia

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Very recently a family member was diagnosed with Dementia. Dementia has devastating effects, not just for the person in question but also those closest to them.

The strength and determination of the family to remain positive has encouraged me to want to do something for those that offer help and support in this field. Therefore, I have decided to help raise awareness and financial support for a brilliant charity, Dementia UK.

Combining my love for running and my job as a London Underground driver, I have set myself a challenge to run the Metropolitan Line.

The 'Met Line Challenge' will take part over 4 days- 9th to 12th March 2023. I will face a half marathon distance for each of the first 3 days, with approximately 17km left on the final day.

The rules I have set myself are simple:

1. The routes I use must go from station to station, with a photo taken at each one.
2. I cannot run from one station to another if it's not possible to travel directly on the Metropolitan Line.

That's it! Those are the only rules! I invite and encourage anybody that wants to join me to tag along, for as much or as little as they wish- the more the merrier!

I will post more information on the routes, plans and my training on Facebook and Instagram (@metlinechallenge / @jamie.goes.running).

Please donate whatever you can, any amount is hugely appreciated. Also, please share with as many people as possible!
