Story
Suicide is the leading cause of death of British men under 50 years of age. Over a quarter (26%) of men who die between the ages of 20 and 34 take their own lives, and 13% of deaths among men aged 35 to 49 are self-inflicted.
The ratio of male to female suicide has shown a sustained rise over the last 30 years. In 1981 men accounted for 62% of suicides in this country, which rose to 70% in 1988, 75% in 1995 and hit 78% in 2013.
A reliable resource for men struggling with suicidal thoughts is long overdue, and CALM has become that resource. Let's support CALM in their efforts to support men.
Our goal is to raise £560, which will cover the cost of running the website for a week, which reaches about 4,000 men, on average, looking for help.
