Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in an English Channel Relay swim in September 2023 for mencap, as part of the mencap Marvels team.

Why would you want to traverse one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world for over 12 hours, in very chilly water, armed only with budgie smugglers, a hat and a pair of goggles I hear you ask? Well, those of you who know me know I've always loved a challenge and there is no denying it, this definitely qualifies! More people have climbed Everest than have swam the channel!

I've always told both my children they can help change the world and if you put your mind to it, anything is possible. I can think of no better way of proving this than actually doing it and I can think of no better charity to support than mencapwho are passionate about changing the world for everyone with a learning disability.

Your donation could go towards an Early years project which helps provide the right support at the right time. It could help with one of the many mencap friendship & relationship groups offering opportunities for people with learning disabilities to overcome loneliness, make friends and enjoy life more or, it could go towards helping someone in to meaningful employment, empowering people with learning disabilities with the support and skills they need to gain or move closer to paid employment.

In short, every penny counts so why not get a warm fuzzy feeling and do something amazing today and please make a donation. It really will make a difference.

Thank you...
