Story
9th September 2022, our paths took a different turn. We lost our beloved Dad/Grandad only 18 months after losing Mum. He was so much fun, caring and hard working. He never actually lost his sense of humour which in the later stages was great to see. He played to a captive audience, with his language skills or just his quick off the cuff remarks.
6th September 2023, Joe and I will walk from our home to Dads and return. This will be 12 miles, 1 mile for every month we’ve been without Dad/Grandad.
If you can support Alzheimers Society, I’d be really grateful, it’s a horrible disease that slowly takes your loved ones away. Let’s hope that cure is on its way.
As Dad used to say as we were going”Thanks for what you’ve done”
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this.Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you dont need to do anything and it's the most efficient way to fundraise. So, who will you walk for? #MemoryWalk
