Memory Walk 2022
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
Who do you walk for? This year thousands of people will walk for everyone affected by dementia. By taking part in Memory Walk, you can help us raise as much money as possible so that we can support families living with dementia now and in the future.

Story

All the walkers participating so far have family members who had Alzheimers/dementia when they died or are currently living with the disease. I am walking for the future. My grandson's maternal grandfather had Pick's disease, their paternal great-grandmother had vascular dementia. I hope my fundraising can contribute to research to treat and or eradicate this disease.

Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes, and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary facing up to it, but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. After Covid-19, dementia was the leading cause of death in the UK in 2020. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the country currently living with dementia, and their families, to spearhead a campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support now.
