For those of you who don't know, our best man, the lovely, looney Clive Case died in 2005 of bowel cancer at the age of 34, and I pledged then to embarrass myself and do something sporty every year to raise money to help to prevent other people dying so young, so needlessly and especially before their children reach the age of 2.

Since Clive's death I've done the Race for Life 4 times, 3 triathlons (yes, triathlons), done the Moonwalk, done a mile swim in the Thames and gone without booze for a month (a "dryathlon”.. geddit?) and in the process raised a total of £6,276 to battle cancer plus contributed towards a joint £1,700 for Parkinson's UK.

All my past efforts are below. You'll notice 2015 is missing for very good reasons: I was in a leg cast for 12 weeks after a bad ankle break and pretty much learning to walk again.

So 2017 I'm back, and as per normal have decided to push myself further than ever before. I'm doing the Henley 10K, part of a group of events over the weekend of 9/10th September this year.

I am short with boobs, and certainly not a natural runner. It's got to be worth a few quid just for comedy value, surely?
