Our story..

In 2010 my step mum died leaving her 9 year old daughter Cora, my younger sister, without a mum.

On the 4th of October 2019  our dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which had spread to his liver and was given no hope. He sadly passed away on the 1st of December  only 8 short weeks later. He was in work 2 days before being diagnosed and so the shock of this terrible diagnoses and loosing him  has broken all our hearts.

My younger sister, still only 18 has lost both parents.

Whilst it being very hard to decide which charity to choose, what stood out for me the most was the lack of support that people have after the unfortunate event of loosing a loved one. This charity is specifically to help children and families emotionally and practically after the death of a loved one.

I feel like my dad would be proud that we have chosen this amazing
charity to help other children and families that are going through such a
difficult, devastating time.

I think that this is very fitting to me and my sister and we just cant imagine life without our beloved dad and I know that Once upon A Smile will help us get through this heartbreaking time.
