Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to run the Reading Half Marathon on March 17th 2019, to mark the 5th anniversary of the death of my much-missed friend, colleague and neighbour, Dawn Talbot.
Dawn became ill very suddenly in early December 2013. She was quickly admitted to our local hospital and found to be in liver failure. Dawn was transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Brimingham and put on the waiting list for a liver transplant. On Christmas Day she received her transplant and we all breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that things were looking brighter for Dawn. However, the transplant failed and Dawn died on 11th January 2014, aged just 31. QEHB looked after Dawn and her family amazingly during this time and gave her the best chance possible; for this reason I would like to raise money to support the Liver Foundation UK, part of the QEHB charity.
I am not a great runner- in fact up until a year and a half ago I had never done any exercise in my life (I was the child who always made excuses or hid when it was time for PE at school), but I am determined and stubborn so am looking forward to the challenge!
