We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are walking with other families on September 23rd to raise awareness and funds for JDRF.

Fundraising helps JDRF be part of major breakthroughs in type1 diabetes research. For example, the hunt for a type 1 diabetes vaccine could be boosted by new research insights into how the immune system responds to a particular virus. Researchers have found that immune cells recognise multiple virus parts when dealing with a coxsackie B virus infection. Coxsackie B viruses – CBVs – are prime suspects at the moment in the hunt for what could be triggeringtype 1 diabetes. These findings could help to improve designs for vaccines that could protect some people from ever developing type 1 diabetes.

Sebastian didn't always have diabetes. We hope that one day he won't have it again. Any pennies you might be able to donate would be gratefully received and the support welcomed.

Lots of love
