Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you already know, my wonderful husband Dave received his kidney in May 2017 after the organ was donated by an amazing family who had just lost a much loved relative.
Dave has suffered from renal failure for almost 8 years and spent time on dialysis. This new kidney has changed all our lives but it’s not a cure for this terrible illness. It’s just a temporary measure. Don’t get me wrong, some kidneys last for many years but the average lifespan of a transplanted kidney is approximately 10 years.
One day a cure might be found to prevent renal failure or perhaps a new medication can be found to prolong the life of a transplanted kidney.
But none of these can be found without money to pay for research. And this is where you can help. I’m running 13.1 Miles in September!! For those who know me, this is a challenge!! Please help me out. Every single penny really does help. Thankyou 💜💜💜
Cash donations can be made too. I have a collection pot at the Picture Framers in Whalley. Or just grab me if you see me training and I’ll pop it in the pot 💜💜💜
