Our incredible #TeamMyelomaUK will be taking on 13.1 miles to help make myeloma history.

Story

On 8th September 2009, my Mum, Marjorie, lost her fight with myeloma. Ten years to the day later, I shall be attempting to run the Great North Run in her memory.

It has been a bit of an interesting time training this year.  I have had a long term injury, and then been a bit ill myself, so it may well be a real plod this year, but I am determined to get through those 13.1 miles somehow.

Myeloma is a horrible illness and accounts for 15% of blood cancers, and 2% of all cancers. It is currently incurable.

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. Their ultimate goal is to find a cure. They receive no government funding and rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising.
