Story
I’m going to be running the Brighton Half Marathon in Feb 2023 to fundraise for TASC. My partner Jon is a paramedic who has been struggling with PTSD following some traumatic incidents at work. I’m inspired by the courage and determination he has shown and want to do something to show my support for him and for all our ambulance crews and the incredibly difficult job that they do.
I haven’t run regularly since having my son 4 years ago so getting half marathon fit in just 12 weeks is going to be a challenge but I’m hoping to beat my previous best time of 2:14:08! Any money you can spare in sponsorship will help keep me motivated on cold winter training runs and will go directly towards helping ambulance staff in need.
TASC, The Ambulance Staff charity is the leading UK charity supporting current and retired Ambulance Staff and their families, regardless of role, to enhance their mental and physical well-being during times of need. Ambulance Staff dedicate their lives to supporting and saving others. They see life at its most fragile, often dealing with tragedy on a daily basis. Sometimes they themselves are in need of care and support. Our support enhances their well-being during times of need by helping to alleviate pain, suffering and financial hardship.
