From high heels to hiking boots for Homeless International
Most people reading this will know that I am far from a glamper never mind a camper. I am heading off to Nepal to push my boundaries - as you all know I am scared of everything and this will be a massive adventure.
On 13th November 2014, thanks to The Regenda Group, I will be heading to Nepal to take part in a 10 day challenge with Homeless International. I will travel with two Regenda collegues Sam Neville and Jess Woodcock and a group of around 15-20 volunteers to Nepal for 10 days.
During my 10 days, I will visit slums in Kathmandu and see what it is like for people living there. I will become part of a local team working on a Homeless International project helping to build homes, perhaps making bricks or digging a well for some of the most disadvantaged families in the area. I am also taking part in a five day trek in the Annapurna region; trekking at altitude on challenging terrain ... oh and camping !
The Regenda Group have paid for the three of us to go on the trip, however, to go on the trip I need to raise £500 for Homeless International Nepal Community Challenge ... so your donation would be gratefully received.
So I am going from high heels to hiking boots to rise to this personal challenge and hopefully make a difference whilst I am in Nepal. I know this will be a life changing experience and I appreciate any support you can give me through your donations.
My two amigos and I are holding a number of fundraising activities at work including a World Cup sweepstake, summer fete and pub quiz and will be hosting events and activites for our friends and families. Please keep checking my justgiving page and facebook page for updates on progress.
