Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. I won First Prize at the Bead and Button Show for the second year in a row in July. It's $300 and I feel it's reward enough to have the recognition and acclaim of my peers. I figured if I could use the gift certificate as a raffle prize, I might raise funds for an incredible organisation called Women for Women. As a female solopreneur who faces nothing like the struggles these women have been through, it brings me joy to think I could help them. I struggle a little with the relative selfishness of my work life and this makes me feel better about that too.

BREAKING NEWS! Lovely Alison Lee of Craftcast has donated $100 of online classes as second prize! http://www.craftcast.com/

I'm also doing this in memory of my mum, who was a wonderful artist, teacher and exceptional mother. I still feel her encouraging presence in my life even though she's been gone for 13 years.

It's £5 per "virtual raffle ticket", and you can buy as many as you like, so, for example, if you donate £20, I will put your name into 'the hat' four times.

Please, please, give what you can and think what fun you will have shopping while doing good in the world!

About the charity

Women for Women International supports women who live in some of the world’s most dangerous places. Women enrol on the charity’s year-long training programme, where they learn how to earn and save money, improve their family’s health and make their voices heard at home and in their community.
