UPDATE: we did it! On Friday 8 July, in 13 hours 38 minutes!!! Delighted to have completed the big swim, and even happier to see how much we raised as a team for The Alexa Trust. Huge thanks to all our supporters. Xxx

In July 2022 I'm attempting to swim from England to France with my relay team mates, Indie, Chantal and Ellis. We are a team made up of participants from the UK and USA, hence our team name: Alexa's Atlantic Alliance. 

Whilst doing this big challenge we are raising funds for The Alexa Trust, which supports parents with babies in neonatal units. This is really close to my heart as I was in hospital for an extended time when I was born, an incredibly tough situation for my parents with their first born. Thanks for your support of our fundraising efforts for the amazing Alexa Trust.

Since moving to Kent 10 years ago, I have looked out on The English Channel regularly, wondering if I could actually get in the cold and sometimes rough water to make it to France. Well, that time has come, thanks to my team mate Chantal encouraging me to join the team, and Indie for proving it's possible when she completed a 6-person relay 3 years ago.

I'm training hard, in the pool, at Dover Harbour and Hythe, and even continuing to dip through the winter at Tankerton with the wonderful Ladies Who Dunk group. Having always swum outside in a wetsuit, only wearing a swimming costume is a new challenge for me, and let's hope the jelly fish keep their distance from us too!
