Story
Little did I know when I first got this marathon ballot place that I would end up running and fundraising for a charity linked to a very special young lady in our family- our niece Immy.
Back in May we found out our 20 year old niece Immy had Hodgekins Lymphoma - since then she has faced various treatments to help her in her road to recovery.
She is currently undergoing Chemotherapy treatment.
As Immys treatment progressed the inevitable happened and she began to lose her hair. First she donated hers to The little Princess Trust before she lost it all. The little Princess Trust have since been a great support to her at this difficult time , no one wants to lose their beautiful hair but they provided her with an amazing wig for free made from real hair donated by some other wonderful fundraisers. We think she still looks beautiful without her hair and she loves a bucket hat!
As a thankyou and also a charity Immy is happy for me to run for on her behalf I will be aiming to raise money for at least 2 wigs …. To pay back for Immys and to help other young people out there going through the same.
On her 21st birthday weekend I will be running the Berlin Marathon and Adrian and Keira will be taking part in the speed skating marathon event and we hope to return with matching medals!
We will be dedicating every mile to our amazing niece and cousin -
She has shown courage, strength, bravery and positivity throughout and we are all so proud of her.
WE LOVE YOU IMMY 💕
