MEI's page

Hi everyone. After years of supporting friends/family and the causes that mean something to them, I have finally decided to do something that means something to me. My beloved dad passed away 7 years ago from lung cancer and I am taking part in the SHINE half marathon walk in London on the evening of Saturday 28th September. Mid way through the walk when it strikes midnight it will be my birthday and I will turn 26.. okay 36! What a better way to remember my dad than 36 years to the day that my parents brought me into this world. I am so grateful for everything my parents have done for me and I am also grateful for the fantastic cancer care and treatment my dad received during his last precious months. Dad was diagnosed when I returned from my honeymoon and he passed away 18mths later, peacefully and with his entire family beside him. Sadly he never got to hold or meet his grandchildren (my 2 daughters) but I'm so grateful that he was there to see me graduate and to give me away on my wedding day. Kiki and Poppy think their Grandad is a star in the sky... Well on the 28th, I am shining for my dad.
