Meg's Charity Skydive for Henry

Tandem Skydive · 13 October 2019
When I was just 15 I met the most amazing little boy who was only 2 and a half. His name is Henry. I have had the pleasure of being Henrys sports coach for nearly 6 years now and every moment has been the best. I have become so close to Henry and his beautiful family over the years and I will always be grateful for them. Henry is one of the most inspiring, loving and funny people I have ever met and I am so proud to be able to call him my little best friend, even though he is nearly 7. From the day, he walked into my Saturday class there was an instant bond which has grown ever since. He has inspired me and taught me more than I will ever be able to explain and I will be forever thankful to him for sharing his truly unique dance moves with me!!
Unfortunately, in June 2019 Henry was diagnosed with leukaemia and was admitted to the Royal Marsden Hospital and continues to fight his battle with cancer. No child should have to face cancer however, this brave young man is truly tackling the disease and showing who’s boss. Henry still manages to smile and make everyone laugh even through the toughest of days, which makes you value everyday ten times more than usual. I also need to mention three other remarkable people, Henry’s parents, Sam and Hua and his little brother Edward, they have truly been so supportive and encouraging during this time and I will always be by their sides.
In honour of Henry, I will be doing a charity skydive on the 24th November 2019, jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet, to raise money for such a wonderful organisation, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. All the money raised will be going towards the charity to fund further research to eventually kick cancers butt! Any support and donations would be appreciated.
Henry, I cannot wait for the day you ring that bell and we can have a dance to our favourite song ‘shut up and dance with me’
Megan.
